Since 2016, the SDG Media Zone has been one of the main features of the UN General Assembly high-level week, bringing together UN Member States, content creators, influencers, activists and media partners to highlight actions and solutions in support of the Sustainable Development Goals. Through impactful in-depth interviews, panel discussions and Ted-style talks, the SDG Media Zone takes the conversation on advancing the 2030 Agenda out of the policy sphere and into the public discourse.

The Conscious Fashion Campaign, in collaboration with the United Nations Office for Partnerships, led a panel at the United Nations General Assembly 74th Session SDG Media Zone focused on how the fashion industry is mobilizing climate action. Kerry Bannigan, Founder of the Conscious Fashion Campaign, moderated the UN Web TV broadcasted discussion with panelists Colleen Vien, Director of Sustainability, Timberland, Tricia Carey, Director of Global Business Development, Lenzing Group and Tolu Olubunmi, Manager of ActNow Climate Action Campaign. Lenzing Group shared their aim to become the first carbon neutral fiber producer in the world with goals of net-zero CO2 emissions target by 2050, a reduction of specific CO2 emissions by 50% until 2030 and an investment of more than 100 million Euro to combat 1.3 Mt of CO2 emissions whist Timberland announced pledge to plant 50 million trees worldwide by 2024
