november 19-20, 2019 | new york
The Kingpins Show is an invitation-only boutique denim sourcing show featuring a highly-edited selection of vendors that include denim and sportswear fabric mills from USA, Japan, China, India, Italy, Turkey, Egypt, Pakistan, Thailand, Spain and Mexico; wash houses; full package manufacturers; trim providers; and makers of technology, wash chemicals and business solutions.
The Conscious Fashion Campaign returned for the Kingpins New York SS21 trade show in continued support of the Kingpins Show exhibitors’ standards and requirements in the areas of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Chemical Management to focus on sustainability and innovation.
Kingpins New York SS21 placed the Sustainable Development Goals at the center of programming with a focus on the future of the denim industry highlighting key social and environmental issues. The panel discussion Denim Industry Impact: Conscious Strategies for the Sustainable Development Goals was moderated by Lucie Brigham, Chief of Office, United Nations Office for Partnerships, and featured speakers Kerry Bannigan, Founder, Conscious Fashion Campaign; Sara Kozlowski, Director of Education and Professional Development, Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA); and Michele Sizemore, SVP Global Product Development, GAP.
The Conscious Fashion Campaign also joined a panel discussion exploring ways in which brands can use their new, excess product to benefit others and the planet. Philanthropy As Pathway to Sustainability was hosted by Delivering Good – a nonprofit that receives new product donations from hundreds of companies in the fashion, home and children’s industries and donates them to millions of kids, adults, and families facing poverty and disaster each year.
The Conscious Fashion Campaign/United Nations Office for Partnerships knowledge hub on the show floor informed members of the denim community about the Sustainable Development Goals and ways to partner with industry to achieve the goals.
