On September 26th the Conscious Fashion Campaign will host a reception at the SDG Media Zone during the United Nations General Assembly 74th Session. The event, co-hosted by LENZING Group, Avery Dennison and Phaze.io, will begin with welcome remarks from Lucie Brigham, Chief of Office, United Nations Office for Partnerships and followed by special remarks from Giulia Braga, Program Manager, Connect4Climate, World Bank Group.

The Conscious Fashion Campaign unites the fashion industry to accelerate the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals. The initiative, supported by the United Nations Office for Partnerships, champions fashion as an influential sector to address the world’s most pressing issues and lead a future that leaves no one behind. The campaign is dedicated to driving change through advocacy, education and engagement of industry innovators to create a sustainable future for all. 

The event will present the panel discussion Sustainable Fashion Driving Tomorrow’s Economy moderated by Kerry Bannigan, Founder, Conscious Fashion Campaign. Confirmed speakers include Tricia Carey, Director Global Business Development, LENZING Group, Debbie Shakespeare, Senior Director, Compliance and Sustainability, Avery Dennison, Kyle Collier, Cofounder & CEO, Phaze.io and Megan Meiklejohn, Sustainable Materials & Transparency Manager, EILEEN FISHER, INC.

The evening reception will gather fashion industry executives, content creators and United Nations representatives to learn about the Conscious Fashion Campaign one year pilot program findings and draw on 2020 plans. Closing remarks will be delivered by Amir Dossal, President, Global Partnerships Forum.

The SDG Media Zone will be located on the UN Visitors’ Plaza. World leaders will gather at United Nations Headquarters in New York for the 74th session of the UN General Assembly. During the high-level week, the SDG Media Zone will host impactful, dynamic and in-depth conversations with decision-makers, influencers and media partners – live-streamed on UN WebTV and promoted by partnering media organizations. Conversations will focus on the main themes of the week – the Sustainable Development Goals, climate action, universal health coverage, financing for development, and Small Island Developing States.
