After a first successful edition in January VEPSI, the sustainable marketplace and influencer program, returns to NEONYT Trade Fair, the global hub for fashion, sustainability and innovation, July 2nd – 4thduring Berlin Fashion Week to deliver the “VEPSI Experience.” In collaboration with the Conscious Fashion Campaign, supported by the United Nations Office for Partnerships, the VEPSI experience will deliver an interactive series of panel discussions and activities that bring together international influencers, brands, experts and changemakers.
The Conscious Fashion Campaign is a call to action for retail, media and influencers to commit to the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The initiative seeks engagement and collaboration among industry stakeholders to redefine fashion as we know it today and drive change to protect the planet and ensure prosperity for all;ensuring that no one is left behind as we accelerate change towards our sustainable future.
At 3pm on July 2nd “Supporting the Creative Economy of Tomorrow: Sustainable Fashion Made In Africa” moderated by Kerry Bannigan, Founder, Conscious Fashion Campaign, will focus on the potentials and challenges of the emerging sustainable fashion industry. Panelists include Tamburai Chirume – ONEOFEACH, Eilean Von Lautz-Cauzanet – VEPSI, Isabelle Riedelbauch – Cotton Made in Africa and Lancine Koulibaly – Umòja Shoes.
Continuing on the discussions at 10am on July 3rdthe Conscious Fashion Campaign explores “Purchase with Purpose: The Role of Storytelling and Experience in Sustainable Retail”. Joining the panel is

#VEPSIAmbassador influencers will also share and reflect on their role as ambassadors of conscious consumerism.
In parallel to these discussions, VEPSI will be organizing a series of “challenges” bringing together influencers curated from the #VEPSIambassador network. The first challenge “SDGs are the New Trend” gives influencers one hour to create an outfit composed of curated designers from NEONYT Fashion Show. The items picked must align with a minimum of four of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, will be shot and compiled as “SDG Lookbook”. The styled outfits will be presented by the influencers during a cocktail organized at NEONYT.
The second challenge “The NEONYT crush Challenge” seeks to increase the visibility of brands whilst raising awareness on key issues pertaining to the fashion industry: waste and water management. Influencers will interview three select brands from NEONYT, focusing both on style and sustainability aspects. These interviews will be shared on social media where communities are encouraged to vote for their favorite brand.
